VIGILANCE

There is a movie currently doing the rounds that you all should see. It is a modern version of a true story about a dog and his master called, "Hachi, A Dog`s tale".

The story is about a pure breed Akita named Hachiko in Japan born in 1923, which became the beloved pet of Professor Ueno who was a lecturer at a University.

Every day the Professor would go to the train station to catch the train for work and Hachiko would walk with him to the station and when the Professor had caught the train, Hachiko would return home: Then at five minutes to three every afternoon, the dog would go to the train station to await the return of his master and the two would walk back home together.

One day as Hachiko waited, the Professor did not get off the train,....he had died unexpectedly while at work, and from that time on the dog would wait at the train station every day,....waiting for a master who was not going to come.

Hachiko did this for nine more years until his death. He would sleep under an abandoned railway carriage, then just before three o`clock every afternoon, he would return to the station platform waiting for his master to come home.

I could not help but be deeply moved by the demonstration of love, devotion and loyalty this animal had for his master, and it was unrequited,...it is, I believe, an example that should challenge us all:

THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD:

"LET YOUR LOINS BE GIRDED ABOUT, AND YOUR LIGHTS BURNING; AND YE YOURSELVES LIKE UNTO MEN THAT WAIT FOR THEIR LORD, WHEN HE WILL RETURN FROM THE WEDDING; THAT WHEN HE COMETH AND KNOCKETH, THEY MAY OPEN UNTO HIM IMMEDIATELY. BLESSED ARE THOSE SERVANTS, WHOM THE LORD WHEN HE COMETH SHALL FIND WATCHING: VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT HE SHALL GIRD HIMSELF, AND MAKE THEM TO SIT DOWN TO MEAT, AND WILL COME FORTH AND SERVE THEM. AND IF HE SHALL COME IN THE SECOND WATCH, OR COME IN THE THIRD WATCH, AND FIND THEM SO, BLESSED ARE THOSE SERVANTS". LUKE 12/35-38.

OUR LOYALTY, LOVE AND DEVOTION WILL NOT GO UNREWARDED:

THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD, JESUS THE CHRIST, HO LOGOS, THE WORD OF GOD:

"WHO THEN IS THAT FAITHFUL AND WISE STEWARD, WHOM HIS LORD SHALL MAKE RULER OVER HIS HOUSEHOLD, TO GIVE THEM THEIR PORTION OF MEAT IN DUE SEASON? BLESSED IS THAT SERVANT, WHOM HIS LORD WHEN HE COMETH SHALL FIND SO DOING. OF A TRUTH I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT HE WILL MAKE HIM RULER OVER ALL THAT HE HATH". LUKE 12/42-44.

UNLESS,.................................................................................

"BUT AND IF THAT SERVANT SAY IN HIS HEART, MY LORD DELAYETH HIS COMING; AND SHALL BEGIN TO BEAT THE MENSERVANTS AND MAIDENS, (dominionist doctrine, church leaders seeing themselves as above, ruling, dominating, lording it over God`s people, {1 Pet. 5/3}, as well as 'conquering' the world for Christ when Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world." {John 18/36}). AND TO EAT AND DRINK, AND TO BE DRUNKEN; (partaking of, committing fornication with, and drunk with lust for "the things of this world" {1 John 2/15-16, Rev. 17/2, 18/3}). THE LORD OF THAT SERVANT WILL COME IN A DAY WHEN HE LOOKETH NOT FOR HIM, AND AT AN HOUR WHEN HE IS NOT AWARE, AND WILL CUT HIM IN SUNDER, AND WILL APPOINT HIM HIS PORTION WITH THE UNBELIEVERS". LUKE 12/45-46.
