PRAYER OF AGREEMENT

“VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, WHATSOEVER YE SHALL BIND ON EARTH SHALL BE BOUND IN HEAVEN: AND WHATSOEVER YE SHALL LOOSE ON EARTH SHALL BE LOOSED IN HEAVEN. AGAIN I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT IF TWO OF YOU SHALL AGREE ON EARTH AS TOUCHING ANY THING THAT THEY SHALL ASK, IT SHALL BE DONE FOR THEM OF MY FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.” MATH. 18/18-19.

There is gross misunderstanding of the above scriptures and the implications thereof:

Most leadership preach and teach that if two folk, (or more,) get together to pray for something that they want, then all they have to do is agree together, believing that it will come to pass, and then it will happen:

IS THIS CORRECT, DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THIS? ESPECIALLY WHEN THE THING AGREED UPON DOESN`T HAPPEN, AS I KNOW IS THE CASE HAVING WITNESSED MANY SUCH ACTIONS OVER THE YEARS IN CHURCH?

The misunderstanding comes out of a distorted, perverted concept of the above scriptures, having root in the lusts of the flesh, man`s own vain imaginations and what he desires, wants, Ja. 4/2-3, and not realizing, or living according to Holy Divine Truth, which is not OUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH, WHAT WE WANT, BUT “THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH,” THAT WHICH GOD WANTS, WILLS: A CONDITION OF YIELDEDNESS WHERE THE BLESSED STATE EXISTS IN ONE`S HEART THAT “WARMLY WELCOMES AND RECEIVES GOD AS A FRIEND, ACCEPTING ALL HIS DEALINGS AS BEING GOOD IN THAT THEY ENHANCE THE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM: (this spiritual condition is evident in those who blossom with meekness, [proates] one of the fruits of the spirit,) WHICH CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED BY THOSE WHO ARE TOTALLY BROKEN, CONTRITE, SURRENDERED, DEPENDANT AND 100% TRUSTING IN LOVING FATHER SON AND HOLY GHOST, WHO HOLD NOTHING BACK AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, WALK IN THE LIGHT, ABIDE IN HIS LOVE, ABIDE IN THE VINE ALWAYS. SUCH DO NOT DEMAND OF GOD TO HONOUR THEIR PRAYERS, EVEN IF THEY ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH ONE ANOTHER, (how preposterous,) BUT SIMPLY, ACCORDING TO HOLY DIVINE WRIT, “ARE CAREFUL FOR NOTHING, BUT IN EVERY THING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION WITH THANKSGIVING LET THEIR REQUESTS BE MADE KNOWN UNTO GOD. PHIL. 4/6. (notice the word requests here? It is not about agreeing with one another or stamping your feet and demanding what you want, IT`S ABOUT ASKING, PETITIONING, PLEADING, REQUESTING, SUPPLICATING, WITH THANKSGIVING:

THUS SAITH THE LORD:

“AND THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE THAT WE HAVE IN HIM, THAT, IF WE ASK ANYTHING ….. ACCORDING TO HIS WILL,…..HE HEARETH US: AND IF WE KNOW THAT HE HEAR US, WHATSOEVER WE ASK, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE PETITIONS THAT WE DESIRED OF HIM.” 1 JOHN 5/14-15.

SEE, OUR PRAYERS HAVE TO BE REQUESTS, NOT DEMANDS, HAVE TO BE, …..ACCORDING TO HIS WILL,….. HIS WAY, WHAT HE DESIRES, WHAT HE WANTS, NOT WHAT WE PRESUME THAT HIS WILL, DESIRE, IS:

“BELOVED, IF OUR HEART CONDEMN US NOT, THEN HAVE WE CONFIDENCE TOWARD GOD. AND WHATSOEVER WE ASK, WE RECEIVE OF HIM, BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, AND DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT.” 1 JOHN 3/21-22.

“IF YE ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YE SHALL ASK WHAT YE WILL, AND IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU.” JOHN 15/7.

HAVE A THINK ABOUT THE ABOVE, LOOK AT THE CONDITIONS PERTAINING TO GETTING PRAYER ANSWERED:

FIRST, FOREMOST, AND LAST OF ALL, IT MUST BE “ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, NOT OUR WILL:”

NUMBER TWO, “WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT,” NOT THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING US, OTHERS, THE FLESH, OUR DESIRES:

NUMBER THREE, WE MUST BE “ABIDING IN HIM,…AND…HIS…WORDS…

MUST… BE… ABIDING….IN…US:”

IN OTHER WORDS, OUR PRAYERS SHOULD COME OUT OF A HEART THAT IS JOINED, UNIFIED, ENTHUSED, FUSED, MADE “ONE WITH HIM EVEN AS CHRIST WAS ONE WITH HIM,” SO THAT HIS WILL IS NOW SUPERIMPOSED OVER OUR WILL AND WE ARE IN THAT CONDITION WHERE WE ARE IN TOTAL AGREEMENT WITH HIM: SEE THE AGREEMENT IS NOT WITH ONE ANOTHER,……… IT`S WITH HIM AND WHAT HE WILLS, ALL WHO ARE PRAYING IN AGREEMENT TOGETHER WITH HIM: WHEN WE LIVE IN THIS CONDITION,…………………………….

THEN WE CAN BOLDLY CONFESS:

“ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD IN HIM ARE YEA, AND IN HIM AMEN, UNTO THE GLORY OF GOD BY US.” 2 COR. 1/20.]

The best example we can give is the following taken from Zodhiates Complete Word Study New Testament: I couldn`t put it more succinctly if I tried, it is an explanation of the word “bind,” “deo,” taken from the subject scripture:

Here belongs the interpretation of the word found Math. 16/19, “whatsoever [ho 3739}, that which, the neut. Sing. Def. art.] thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,” and in Math. 18/18, “those things which” (a.t. [hosa {nert. Pl. of hosos (3745)}]). This means that we as believers on earth can only confirm what has already been decided in Heaven. Heaven does not have to confirm our pronouncements……………………………………………..

The use of the pl., which includes other believers, indicates that this was not an exclusive prerogative of Peter, “whatsoever ye [pl.] shall bind on earth…and whatsoever ye [pl.] shall loose.” The word “Church” appears for the first time in Math. 16/18 and, therefore, this authority the Lord Jesus gave to all His disciples was the necessary apostolic authority for the establishment of the truth in the Church. It has to do with individuals in regard to forgiveness or judgment. The privilege of the forgiveness of sins, which means their removal from the sinner and his regeneration, is the unique privilege of God (Mark 2/7). Here the Kingdom or Church, of the Lord is compared to an edifice to which the Apostles have the keys (Math. 16/19; Is. 22/22; Rev. 3/7). Accordingly, as they shut or open the door to anything that should be believed or rejected in the Church on earth, It must be in agreement with what God has already ordained in Heaven. The allusion here is to the ancient manner of binding together the twin doors of houses with a chain to which a padlock was sometimes suspended. In this connection see also the word aphiemi (863), to forgive, in relation to John 20/23. That this binding and loosing had to do only with the doctrine and government of the local Church is demonstrated by the leadership Peter assumed consequent to this experience. He acted as chairman of the group of disciples in Jerusalem even before the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1/15-26). At Pentecost he was the one who preached when three thousand souls believed (Acts 2/14-41). It was Peter also who brought the gospel to the Gentiles at Caesarea by the sea (Acts 10/34-48). It is evident that what the council at Jerusalem did had been ratified in Heaven by the Holy Spirit (Acts 15/8-9). “Binding and loosing” were idiomatic expressions among the rabbis denoting what these rabbis permitted the people to do or not to do. The disciples were acting in a similar manner as the rabbis for the Jews, but they were acting on behalf of all believers. Such authority was given to all the disciples as Math. 18/18 makes clear. It was Peter who disciplined Ananias and Sapphira, and his decision received ratification from Heaven (Acts 5/1-11). We have a similar experience with Paul in 1 Cor. 5 when discipline was needed. Paul said to the Corinthians that when they were assembled, and his spirit was present, with the power of the Lord Jesus, then the judgment of God would be made manifest in a practical way ( 1 Cor. 5/3-5). It was at the apostolic council in Jerusalem that it was said, “IT SEEMED GOOD TO THE HOLY GHOST, and to us” (Acts 15/28). What was bound on earth had first been bound in Heaven.

Is it clear? Can you see? It is this simple: We pray, make supplication, ask, make our requests known to Loving Father, then listen (prayer, communion, is a two-way street), for Loving Father`s commands on what to do, or, the leading of the Holy Spirit on what to do next, (it may be praying in tongues, groaning, IT COULD BE THAT LOVING FATHER SAYS, BIND THAT THING, CAST OUT THAT DEMON, LAY HANDS ON THAT SICK PERSON,) THEN, YOU OBEY, SEE, EVERYTHING BY FAITH (HEARING HIM SPEAK), AND THEN OBEDIENCE, (AGREEMENT WITH HIM).

How do you know whether or not when someone asks you to agree with them about something in prayer that it is ratified by Loving Father Son and Holy Ghost?

EASY,…..YOU KNOW WHEN SOMEONE IS PREACHING THE TRUTH DON`T YOU?

“THE SPIRIT BEARS WITNESS” WITH YOUR SPIRIT THAT IT IS THE TRUTH: YOU SENSE THE CONCURMENT, THE CONVICTION, AGREEMENT, AUTHORITY, THE QUICKENING IN YOUR SPIRIT:

IT IS NO DIFFERENT WHEN PRAYING: SURELY YOU CAN ATTEST TO BEING IN PRAYER MEETINGS WITH OTHERS, AND SUDDENLY YOU FEEL TRANSPOSED OUT OF THE FLESH INTO THE SPIRITUAL REALM, AND YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS OF THE LORD, AND, BEST OF ALL, WHAT IS BEING PRAYED FOR IS GOING TO COME TO PASS. AMEN. YOU CAN SENSE THE PEACE, THE UNITY, THE AGREEMENT, THE SINGLENESS OF PURPOSE AND THOUGHT, THE VICTORY:

IF YOU CANNOT SENSE HIS QUICKENING, HIS CONCURMENT, HIS AGREEMENT, HIS AUTHORITY, (not some fleshy, pumped up imitation of demand, authority), HIS PRESENCE, HIS IMPELLING, LEADING TO AGREE WITH WHAT IS BEING PRAYED FOR,……..THEN THE ONE DOING THE PRAYING IS IN THE FLESH, NOT THE SPIRIT:

AND OF COURSE, IF THIS IS THE CASE, THE ONE PRAYING IS NOT IN OBEDIENCE TO THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST WHICH SAYS,……………………

“BUILDING UP YOURSELVES ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH PRAYING IN THE …..HOLY…..GHOST.” JUDE 20……… WE ARE COMMANDED TO PRAY AND WORSHIP LOVING FATHER “IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH:” JOHN 4/24.
