ITS GODS CREATION NOT BIG BANG NATIONS

Gen. 12/4-7.

PS. 14/1. “THE FOOL HATH SAID IN HIS HEART; THERE IS NO GOD, THEY ARE CORRUPT, THEY HAVE DONE ABOMINABLE WORKS, THERE IS NONE THAT DOETH GOOD”.

TO THE LADY OF THE HOUSE

To the lady of the house,

Who happens to be my spouse,

A small change of attire,

To be seen and to admire:

I tried not to buy anything cheap and nasty,

So this wouldn`t be a total disaster;

But as you know, a limited budget,

However in love, I`ll let you judge it:

I`d like you to know there`s a change in direction,

Coming to your life on the way to perfection;

The first part of your journey is about to end,

Having made you ready for what`s ahead with your friend:

There`s a move coming from our Father, I`m told,

So He wants you to be open, willing and bold;

As He shows you off to His Bride to be,

For their eyes only, but will they see?

Be strong of good courage and step out in grace,

There`s a course to be run, you know we must race;

You know what`s at stake, “The Bride of Christ”,

So let`s get busy, and let the devil not heist:

Remember the things that you`ve been taught,

Don`t let the devil, bring them to naught;

As He was in the beginning, with you now,

So it is forever, the Lord has endowed:

Yes, this is a gift to the lady of the house,

Who just happens to be my only spouse,

A gift from our Father, in Heaven above,

A small change of attire, given with love:

From your loving husband. May your poems bless all who read them.

Pro. 31/10-31, 1 Pet. 3/3-4.    24th. Dec. 2000.

FOUR CHILDREN

1 Tim. 5/17.

“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the Word, and doctrine”.

Pro. 22/6.

“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.

Four children sitting upon their chairs,

Hours go by, there`s a stillness there;

No murmuring or complaining, unbelievable to sight,

Surrendered to God and all His might;

A young boy as he watches a man chair the floor,

Listening attentively, he appears to want more;

At such a young age, absorbing all,

Only God knows what be his call;

A little girl, barely of school age,

Sitting with her sister, but what can they gauge?

Yet there`s a stillness within, content in His arms,

Always knowing, they`ll come to no harm;

An elder sister, not yet a teen,

By example she leads, prominently seen;

Conspicuous to all, with a loving heart,

Guiding her siblings she stands apart;

What is it that these children possess?

It`s a stillness of heart, with Him they rest;

Enter their sanctuary and their peace you will find,

And with them and the Lord, you will freely now bind:

“For thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel; in returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength”. Is. 30/15.

“Having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly”. Tit. 1/6.

“One that ruleth well his own house having his children in subjection with all gravity for if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God”? 1 Tim. 3/4-5.

THE MAN IN THE PULPIT

Eph. 4 and 5.

The man in the pulpit speaks what`s on his heart,

Always listening to God, they`re never apart;

Surrendered in love, he seeks His direction,

Always humbled, reaching for perfection;

As he speaks his crescendo rises,

He`s excited as the Lord surprises;

A spoken word to an attentive heart,

Yes he knows they`re never apart;

He begs and pleads to the congregation there,

To allow God for their nets to repair;

Always seeking the guidance of the Lord,

A terrible mistake, he cannot afford;

You see the tears streaming down his face,

The Lord has given him just so much grace;

A spoken word, with love and humility,

Given of God, for few to see;

Please, I beg you, love God`s man in the pulpit,

His representative, don`t allow to forfeit;

But yes he`s not perfect in all that he does,

So please don`t crucify him, but give him your love;

Please don`t crucify that man in the pulpit,

Because next time, that man could be you:

“Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm”. Ps. 105/15.

“Who art thou that judgest another man`s servant? To His own Master he standeth or falleth, yea he shall be holden up: For God is able to make him stand”. Ro. 14/1.

CONTENTION

1 Cor. 11/16.

“But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God”.

Why the contention?

And the dissension;

Angry words they mention,

Silence, prevention;

Do they live in confusion?

With an illusion,

Misguided delusion,

Hurtful words of intrusion;

Are these jealous tendencies?

Wrongful dependencies,

Without transparency,

Dangerous heresy;

Yes they`re fearful,

Now humble and tearful,

With God more prayerful,

Their words more careful;

But we love them whatever,

Christian brothers won`t sever,

Chained together,

Unforgiving, never:

“Only by pride cometh contention but with the well advised is wisdom”. Pro. 13/10.

FEAR

What can I do to make your pain go away?

To help ease the enormous burden which you are carrying;

The fear you feel in your heart,

Not knowing what the outcome will be;

You`re too frightened to go out alone,

Even more frightened to sleep;

Your changes are a complete puzzlement;

You no longer read as much for fear of containment;

You`re so brave when talking to me,

Making light of your condition so as not to worry me;

I can offer you the Lord Jesus Christ as your beloved Saviour, and all your pain will go away:

“In the last day, that last day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying, If any man thirst let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters”. John 7/37-38.

PLANKS AND SPLINTERS

Planks and splinters, what does it mean?

Planks and splinters, criticism it seems;

Planks and splinters, are you in denial?

Planks and splinters, does your heart need revival;

Planks and splinters, do you judge?

Planks and splinters, are you holding a grudge;

Planks and splinters, are you speaking your fears?

Planks and splinters, the enemy`s voice do you hear;

Planks and splinters, with words do you kill?

Planks and splinters, is your mouth running at will;

Planks and splinters, is one torn apart?

Planks and splinters, I beg you, rid the stones from your heart:

“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother`s eye, but considereth not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and behold a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother`s eye”. Math. 7/3-5.

LIFE AT THE TOP

Eph. 6/10-18.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood”.

Life at the top,

Yes it`s very hot,

Consumed with fire,

satan`s desire,

Fiery darts,

Straight into the heart,

Always surrendered,

To the Lord rendered;

His enemy`s torture,

More lambs to the slaughter;

Standing in the gap,

Repelling satan`s attack;

Too tired to rest,

Yes he does his best:

“And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none”. Ez. 22/30.

“Wherefore He is able to save them to the uttermost that cometh to God by Him. Seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them”. Heb. 7/25.

A NEW CHURCH PLANTING

“Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on Earth? I tell you, nay but rather division”. Luke 12/51, John 7/43, 9/16, 10/19.

.

A new church planting,

Shot down in flames,

Confrontation, dissention,

The preacher is blamed;

The enemy challenges,

God`s spoken word,

Why are they threatened?

Following satan`s herd;

The meeting is tense, the room well divided,

Sitting at opposite ends,

Unforgiving it seems, intolerance there,

Will they allow their hearts to mend?

“It`s too long they say”!

They can`t endure,

“Too loud they say”!

They have their own cure;

They follow their will,

Complacent to stay,

In their comfort zones,

They refuse to stray;

It seems this poor man can do no right,

He fervently prays for his flock;

But at every which turn, opposition is there,

But he stands on his only rock;

The weeks pass by, no change there seems,

The murmuring and whispering still there;

A church now divided, they`ve exposed their souls,

The poor preacher standing where?

Everything`s not well for those with dissent,

Their heart`s now uncovered and bare;

The murmuring continues among themselves,

Confront the preacher, no courage to dare;

The church is divided into groups,

Praise and worship then teaching again;

The poor man at the helm, knows not what to do,

But pray for God to regain;

They`re in the same house, teaching the word,

Those there being blessed once again;

But the members of division pass him by,

No acknowledgement to their shame;

But their conscience of manners does stir their heart,

Their intolerant display uncovered,

But what do they do to right their wrong?

Swallow their pride or allow satan to smother;

What`s happened to this new church planting?

Can`t you see what satan`s about?

He wants to keep you roaming in the desert,

Never finding His main route;

You can behave like this for the rest of your life,

Or you can confront the issues at hand;

You can continue going from church to church,

Or in God finally make a stand;

Yes a preacher has only one good friend,

For idle gossip he cares not;

But he`s on his knees in prayer and love,

Interceding for his flock:

“For they could not endure that which was commanded, and if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: and so terrible was the sight, that Moses said,I exceeding fear and quake: but ye are come unto Mount Sion, and unto the city of the Living God, the Heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in Heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of the sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from Heaven”. Heb. 12/20-26.

“For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you:. 1 Cor. 11/18-19.

OUR LITTLE BLACK CAT

Our little black cat lying on the mat,

Snuggling into one`s foot;

Our little black cat, contented at that,

Purring and loving as it would;

This little black cat has bought us so much pleasure,

Gently rubbing it`s face in love;

This little black cat, yes it is God`s treasure,

Our special little gift from above;

I thank God for this little black cat,

Her gentleness and loving heart;

I thank God for our little black cat,

From the three of us never apart;

This little black cat is just that,

A beautiful little black cat;

God`s little black cat,

Sleeping on it`s mat,

Whom we`re always wanting to pat:

COMPROMISE

Are we people pleasers?

Just to fill the pews,

Convenient doctrines,

Has His Word gone askew?

Are we satisfying our needs?

To keep one step ahead,

Walking on sand,

Are we the living dead?

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe”. Pr. 29/25.

“How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 5/44.

SPIRITUAL COMPREHENSION

Mk. 4/24, Luke 8/18.

“Take heed therefore how ye hear”.

Spiritual comprehension,

Godly retention,

Demonic prevention,

Hellfire suspension;

How easy it is, spiritual comprehension,

Words softly spoken have Godly retention;

Listening quietly for demonic prevention,

Placing your life in hellfire suspension;

satanic surrender,

A slave forever,

To God please render,

Your heart so tender;

Please don`t allow satanic surrender,

For a slave of satan you`ll be forever;

Soften your heart to God and render,

Melting like wax your heart so tender;

Please don`t listen to satan`s words,

Don`t comprehend them, all they`ll do is hurt;

The only words you need to know,

Are those of God and the way to go;

Rhema to the heart you`ll clearly understand,

His spoken Word at His command;

Don`t let the enemy steal that spiritual comprehension,

Those softly spoken words for your retention:

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they may have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. John 10/10.

IT`S GOD`S CREATION NOT BIG BANG NATIONS

Part A

Gen. 1 and 2.

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth,

His formula of magnificence, unfolding our birth;

Without form or void, darkness on the face of the deep,

No longer bare or bereft, magnificent light He did seek;

As He divided the darkness from the light,

He called these phenomena day and night;

Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters,

An expanse of space, our new Heavenly quarters;

Let the dry land appear, God commanded eagerly,

He called the dry Earth, and the waters He called seas;

Let the Earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed,

Abundance for all, no need for greed;

And the fruit trees that yield fruit according to it`s kind,

Supplying our needs, as we eat He reminds;

And the firmament of Heavens He divided day and night,

The days, the seasons, and the stars shining bright;

The waters abundant with living creatures,

And birds that fly as He lovingly features;

Bring forth the beast of the Earth and everything that creepeth,

A world created for those that seeketh;

And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground,

In His image Eve to Adam was bound;

And God saw everything that He had made,

His glorious creation, our foundation He laid;

Thus the Heavens and the Earth and all the host of them were finished,

And on the seventh day He rested from the creation of His lineage:

Part B.

It`s God`s creation, not big bang nations,

Evolutionists theorise, pulling down His creation;

Where is evolutions beginning? They cannot tell,

A lie from satan, straight from the pit of hell;

It`s God`s creation, not big bang nations,

Cast out from Heaven, yes that was satan; Ez. 28/14-16, Rev. 12/7-9,

i can be as God, do it better than you,

i`ll fool the world, with this lie i`ll shew; Is. 14/13-14, Luke 10/18.

It`s God`s creation, not big bang nations,

satanic heresy, lying manipulations;

His foolish folly, spiritual annihilation,

People believing, dismissing His creation;

The theory of evolution is just that,

It`s a theory, unsubstantiated, not a fact,

Darwin`s theory, as he did surmise,

By his own hand refuted, he showed it`s demise:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie he speaketh of his own: For he is a liar and the father of it”. John 8/44.

Scholastic in heart for Him he`s yearning; Pro. 1/5.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,

Take this step and study at His college; Pro. 1/7.

But fools despise wisdom and instruction,

Discerning and wise not to your destruction; Pro. 1/7.

Wisdom calls aloud outside,

Make your choice, it`s for you to decide; Pro. 1/20.

My son pay attention to my wisdom,

Please, my son, this is not criticism; Pro. 5/1.

Wisdom has built her house,

She`s a happy, contented spouse; Pro. 9/1.

A wise son makes a glad father,

A listening son, always, the Lord would rather; Pro. 10/1.

He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbour,

And could cast out the Lord to his disfavour; Pro. 11/12.

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,

Don`t allow yourself to be found unsightly; Pro. 15/2.

That you may be wise in your latter days,

Don`t be like Solomon and allow your heart to stray; Pro. 1/7.

Through wisdom a house is built,

Unestablished, though, this house may wilt: Pro. 24/3.

THE SPIRIT OF ELIJAH

Math. 3/1-17, Mk. 1/1-11, Luke 1, 3/1-22, John 1/6-36.

One crying in the wilderness,

John the Baptist as he came;

Repentance and baptism,

His nakedness not to his shame;

Nomadic in the desert,

Preaching to anyone who would hear;

Baptizing in the Jordan,

Believers as they came near;

Now John himself clothed in camel`s hair,

A leather belt around his waist;

In the regions of Jerusalem and Judea,

They went out to him in haste;

Eating locusts and wild honey,

Having no reputation or great fame;

Shouting prepare ye the way of the Lord,

In preparation for their change;

To the Pharisees and Sadducees,

This man John as he came,

Bare ye fruits worthy of repentance,

Your ignorance to your shame;

We have Abraham as our father,

Descendants then we must,

Are guaranteed of our heritage,

As Adam and Eve we came from the dust;

Then Jesus came to Galilee,

To John at the Jordan where he stayed,

Asking to be baptized,

Fulfilling all righteousness he did say;

As Jesus ascended from the water,

A voice from Heaven did say,

This is my Beloved Son,

I`m pleased with the foundation I`ve laid:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah, the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse”. Mal. 4/5-6.

“And His disciples asked Him saying, why then say the scribes that Elias must come first? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall come first, and restore all things. But I say unto you, Elias is come already, and they know him not but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of Man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that He spake unto them of John the Baptist”. Math. 17/10-13.

I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE OR FORSAKE THEE

Heb. 13/5.

How many times must we stumble and fall,

Only to be picked up by the Mightiest of all;

Always there, never leaving nor forsaking,

Crushed in our spirit, His charge He`s shaping;

Trials and tribulations go hand in hand,

And yes, we finally have to make a stand;

Self pity, it seems, draws us away from Him,

Feeling bereft of His presence, only satan to win;

Numb with pain, time only to think,

Help solve our problems, before we sink;

Suicide, perhaps, but it`s not God`s will,

Then His gentle reminder, “Thou shalt not kill”;

“Thou shalt not kill”, this command He spoke,

But killing yourself, this command you revoke;

Never leaving nor forsaking, He`s always there,

You`ll never feel abandoned, you`re in His care;

He loves you too much to allow satan to take,

But He gave you a will, your choice to make;

But let your choice be, for our Mighty Lord,

You`re His might warrior, so come aboard:

“For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life”. 2 Cor. 1/8.

June 2001.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL

Ex. 20/13.

The sixth commandment, thou shalt not kill,

Thy will be done, not your will;

Thy will, His will, not yours to be done,

Don`t you trust God, why can`t you succumb?

The cord of life, alive in conception,

But you listen to satan, confused in deception;

To abort this foetus, this decision you make,

But please trust God, don`t react in haste;

Thou shalt not kill, but you say it`s not formed,

A time of excuse, will your child be born?

It`s not yet a being, you reason away,

A grave decision, will it be made?

A time of tumult, your heartstrings are shattered,

But the sixth commandment, the only thing that matters;

Alive, it`s living, so yes you will kill,

Please give it a chance and follow God`s will;

You cannot kill what is not alive,

And yes you are killing, it`s alive, inside;

Attached to your being, He knows what`s best,

Obey His commandment, in His peace you will rest:

Math. 13/5. “For this peoples heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them”. The Greek word for “heal” in this passage is “Laomai”, and means, metaphorically to heal from moral diseases, to heal or save from the consequences of sin.

ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED

Ex. 20/1-17

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? GOD FORBID”! How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Ro. 6/1-2.

Once saved, always saved?

I wish not to chance my hand,

Playing Russian roulette with my salvation,

Am I building my house on sand?

Once saved always saved,

Are we willfully sinning,

The ten commandments which God demands,

Or is satan finally winning?

Thou shalt have no other gods,

A passionate command from our Creator;

But I must be your one and only God,

A command from your loving Testator;

The worship of graven images,

They`re of rock, or stone, or wood,

Praying to them, a misguided gesture,

Pray to Him as you know you should;

Take not the name of the Lord in vain,

Loose words in frustration and anger,

Of the abundance of the heart does the mouth speak,

Cleanse yourself of this dangerous canker;

Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy,

Honouring the Lord with all our heart;

Don`t toil or struggle but rest in His peace,

And from Him don`t allow to depart;

Honour thy father and thy mother,

Let your behaviour be that of respect;

Be a credit to your parents who love you,

This commandment not wise to neglect;

Thou shalt not kill, don`t test His will,

This command for very good reasons,

Preservation of life, I am their judge,

Disobedience will bring forth your treason;

Committing adultery, not God`s will,

Liaisons of deception, your heads spinning around,

Philandering, flirting, what pain will you cause?

Where`s your conscience, has it gone underground?

Thou shalt not steal, an easy ask,

Are you secretly chancing your skill?

Wrongfully taking what is not yours,

Your appetite do you fill?

Bearing false witness against thy neighbour,

An eternal judgment you`ve placed upon him;

But we`re commanded to love thy neighbour,

Is this an abominable sin?

Thou shalt not covet, the last commandment,

Perhaps the most difficult to fulfill,

Don`t allow your love for the things you desire,

Please comply and walk in His will;

And yes I do not wish to chance my hand,

Playing Russian roulette with my sin,

For nobody knows the will of God,

For a much greater prize to win;

Once saved, always saved?

I try hard to walk in these,

My conscience, yes, does bother me,

As I try hard my Father to please:

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”. Phil. 2/12.

CHRIST`S JOURNEY BACK FROM THE CROSS

Commendation;

Celebration;

Jubilation:

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of God”. Heb. 12/2.

REPRISAL

If the Lord can forgive us our sin,

In the devil`s playground, why are we pinned?

Reprisals of shame,

Why do we walk lame?

Forgive your brother,

Just love one another;

It`s now so hard not to be wary,

Brothers walking like this, it`s so scary,

Forgiveness the key,

Don`t let the enemy lead:

Math. 18/21-35.

AS SHE IS MARRIED

I do, she said,

Always together,

With love in her heart,

A brand new start,

Honouring His presence,

Transparent she stands;

As she is wed,

Her past is shed,

Loving kindness,

It must be right,

Joined together as one,

Happiness has come;

Deception,…no!!!

Why she cries?

Her reddened face,

I wish to embrace;

Eyes of water,

Quivering lips,

It`s not how she thought,

As each battle is fought;

Reaching out,

Aching to talk,

An unfriendly environment,

Not conducive to sacrament;

You ask my advice,

I do not know,

But you ask me to pray,

Your request is obeyed:

“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep”. Ro. 12/15. “Give to him that asketh thee”, Math. 5/42. “Bear ye one another`s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”. Gal. 6/2.

FOR THE CHILDREN OF BELFAST

Young children walking the gauntlet,

To a school of their Lord they came,

By their neighbours yes they were taunted,

Was it their moment of shame?

Suffer the little children,

Too innocent to understand why;

Why this hatred from women and men?

With fear in their hearts they do cry;

Protected by those who love them,

A bomb in the crowd does explode,

Traumatised parents asking the question when

Will the minds of their children implode?

The Bible says “Love thy Neighbour”,

As you love yourself,

But why this shameful behaviour?

Is your salvation on the shelf?

Just as Christ two thousand years before,

That gauntlet He did walk;

Turn to the Father He did implore,

Don`t let your hatred for this man stalk;

Two thousand years have since passed by,

It seems the lesson we have not yet learnt,

The crucifixion of souls as they cry,

Have their hearts forever been burnt?

Are you seeking your moment of fame?

Two thousand years after Christ;

Are you in television`s hall of shame?

Have you conceded to satan your life?

Don`t let this behaviour bring your downfall,

But become allies in the Lord Jesus Christ;

Tear down those barriers and stone-faced walls,

Renew your spirit and walk into new life:

“And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea”. Math. 18/5-6, and again, 18/10, 22/37-40.   6th Sept. 2001.

LONE RANGERS

Are you lone rangers?

To the church are you strangers?

Giving God`s all,

But their ministry does stall;

Castaways,

Has the church gone astray?

Why do they reject?

Among God`s best;

Yes we`re straight talking,

So why are they baulking?

Only one thing does matter,

Convenient doctrines that shatter:

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine: but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and shall be turned unto fables”. 2 Tim. 4/2-4.

“Will someone catch”?

“For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; but they shall not escape”. 1 Thes. 5/3.

“Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom”. Pro. 13/10.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and the haughty spirit before a fall”. Pro. 16/18.

At first glance, do my eyes deceive?

New York city, the land of the free;

As terrorism strikes, they`re as bold as brass,

For this massive slaughter, they did not ask;

Two thousand plus, why these lives do they take,

Like lambs to slaughter, herded in this one place;

Without defense, they`re ringing their homes,

Declaring their love, knowing they`ll die alone;

Black thickening smoke, choking every breath,

Avoiding the flames, leaping to their death,

A small child asking, “will someone catch”?

As the terrorist plan is finally hatched;

Emergency services, will many survive?

Body spare parts, as they are reviled;

This needless carnage, as America stands,

God bless our country, God bless this land;

Nation against nation, why must this be?

Men, women and children, dying needlessly;

So much hatred, welled up within;

Thou shalt not kill, an abominable sin;

World war 3, will this be worlds end?

Or will the hearts of the people, finally mend;

Reconciliation, united as one,

Under the banner of Jesus, the battle is won;

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows”. Math. 24/6-8. Also, Math. 5/28-39, 5/44-45, 1 Tim. 6/17.

REPETITON

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing”? Ps. 2/1.

Ro. 3/10-18.

Demolition,

Recognition,

Inhumanity,

Is it insanity?

Children conditioned,

With repetition,

Normal lives,

Can they survive?

Bearing arms,

But what of the harm?

Sweet innocence lost,

At a heavy cost;

But what then?

Of grown men?

The cycle goes on,

Are their children taught wrong?

Children conditioned,

With repetition,

Normal lives,

Can they survive?

Bearing arms,

But what of the harm?

Sweet innocence lost,

At a heavy cost,

But what then?

Of grown men?

The cycle goes on,

Are their children taught wrong?

And so on,…and so on,…

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive us our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, For ever. Amen. For if ye forgive not men their trespasses; neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward”. Math. 6/7-16. Sept. 2001.

RED HORSE OF THE APOCALYPSE

“And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they would kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword”. Rev. 6/4.

“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together, become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes”. Ro. 3/10-18.

“FOR THE WRATH OF MAN WORKETH NOT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD”.

JA. 1/20.

Please my Lord show me, your greater vision to see,

With all this killing and maiming, is this our end to be?

All this hatred exposing, what we`re really like inside,

Nation turning upon nation, the terror inside does rise;

We`re told to love thy neighbour, as thyself you said,

But we`re unable to love ourselves, as we lie with the enemy in bed;

So what chance do we really have, when our torment lies with sin?

How can we love our neighbour, when our battle lies within?

The battles we have deep within, our heart filled with so much unrest,

We listen to evil doers they think they know what`s best;

Murmurers and complainers, distracting us from what`s real,

Come once again close to the Lord and partake in His generous deal;

We`ve lost sight of what`s important, we`re carrying the burdens of life,

Trying to be the best we can, but all this causes is strife;

Fulfilling our dreams and ambitions, but have you asked Him if this is His wish?

Or are you running ahead of Him, or are you in His niche;

You see, Jesus, died on the cross, as no other man now or before,

He hung on that cross naked, for us our lives He bore;

Don`t hate your neighbour, even with cause, forgive him as He shewed,

As Jesus last words to us, “forgive them for they know not what they do”;

Love is a potent ingredient and forgiveness can then follow on,

Love your enemy as I love you, it will help you do no wrong;

If we love one another as He loves us, you will not want to kill or maim,

And all your hatred will vanish, and we will no longer walk in pain;

Perfect love casts out all fear, sin has no place to hide,

So cast this evil from you and in His loving arms abide;

You`ll avoid any confrontation, maiming and killing you`ll abhor,

Overwhelmed with love for your neighbour, a love you`ve never felt before:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”. Math. 11/28-30.

“But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the Blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us: Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace. And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit onto the Father”. Eph. 2/13-18.

“For the Son of man is not come to destroy men`s lives, but to save them”: Luke 9/56.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. John 10/10.

“ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, if any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water”. John 7/37-38.

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath. For it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: For in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”. Ro. 12/17-21.

REJOICE ALWAYS

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say rejoice”. Phil. 4/4.

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings”. Phil. 2/14.

Taxi cabs,

They`re just fab,

This job we`ve nabbed,

Aren`t we glad;

They make our day,

They`re the only way,

With such great pay,

That`s why we stay;

With conditions to please,

We`re always at ease,

The bosses we appease,

The job`s a breeze;

We`re growing old,

The airconditioning`s too cold,

But we`re in this mould,

We`ve struck gold;

Our backs do creak,

New jobs we don`t seek,

We`re now slow to speak,

And we`re getting weak;

But we just can`t leave,

To our jobs we cleave,

We`re not peeved,

As our magic we weave:

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. 1 Thes. 5/18.

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound; every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full, and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. Phil. 4/11-13.

“But Godliness with contentment is great gain”. 1 Tim. 6/6.

“Charity suffereth long. And is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things endureth all things”. 1 Cor. 13/4-7.

THE LOST

“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved”. John 3/17.

Are they so very drunk,

And have their brains a little shrunk?

Not knowing where they are,

Standing too long at the bar;

They`re bewildered, bemused,

Their locations confused;

Are their lights dim?

Will a cab they win?

Is their speech lazy?

Are their eyes hazy?

To be home they`d prefer,

Another drink they defer;

But God bless them all,

As they stumble and fall,

Keeping us in a job,

While fighting the mob:

“Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way;  for that he himself is also compassed with infirmity”. Heb. 5/2.

“And Jesus answering said unto them, they that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick”. Luke 5/31.

THE BATTLE WITHIN

There are many highs and lows in your life,

Your walk, it seems, is accompanied with strife;

But what makes this man, the man with torment,

Destroying everything, it appears he`s hell bent;

You cannot reach, try hard that you may,

He`s so shut up, you reject even to pray;

A wall within him, shutting out all that love,

He won`t or can`t listen, what`s blocking the above?

He`s very gentle, but aggressive in voice,

A frightening experience, for any people`s choice;

But then he is loving, a contradiction from before,

How can you reach him, as he deplores;

I love him dearly, but no matter how hard I try,

Penning this poem, outwardly I cry;

But what of the balance, too many highs and lows,

Walking in confusion, the Holy Spirit knows:

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ`s sufferings; that when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy”. 1 Pet. 4/12-13. CASTIGATION

I`m sick in my stomach,

I`m, crying inside,

Concern is with me,

How will we survive?

Turning inward,

No family or friends,

We keep on criticising,

Where will it all end?

Castigation,

There`s only so much they`ll take,

This why are we doing?

Castigation, they`ll break;

Judge not lest you be judged,

By our criticism we have failed,

Let he who has not sin cast the first stone,

To the enemy our soul is jailed;

Seek ye  first the Kingdom of God,

Don`t allow reactions of life to overtake,

And all these things shall be added unto you,

In God we have made our stake:

“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted”. Gal. 6/1.

HE`S A LITTLE GENTLEMAN

“And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the Lord, and also with men”. 1 Sam. 2/26.

He`s a little gentleman, that`s what you see,

He`s soft and gentle, unencumbered and free;

He`s thoughtful and loving, always ready to please,

He`s respectful and courteous, always ready to appease;

He`s funny and witty, he makes you laugh,

This little gentleman, from God not apart;

His jokes and stories, once he starts,

His imagination and his giant heart;

He`s a little scholar, always doing his best,

Working hard to please, stands apart from the rest;

This little gentleman, respecting His Crest,

Admired by others, gaining their respect;

His healthy appetite, a connoisseur of taste,

Loves experimenting, no food goes to waste;

Always complimenting, cleaning his plate,

Tantalizing his tastebuds, for dinner never late;

This little gentleman, is but twelve years old,

Beyond his years, God`s wisdom he holds;

Maturity evident, he`s becoming bold,

As God watches over him, the Potter does mould:

“The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthern pitchers, the work of the hands of the Potter”. Lam. 4/2.

“But now, O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our Potter; and we are the work of thy hand”. Is. 64/8.

HIS CREATION

The fruits of His labour has created pumpkins, a green, leafy plant intertwining with other plants in our garden. Firstly a leaf, then a flower and then a tiny pumpkin. A truly amazing creation from a single seed placed in the ground. Food for His beloved.

The fragrance of the stocks planted in the garden, gently stimulating my senses. Beautiful tall stocks. Pinks and mauves.

A crabapple tree, when planted, bereft of foliage. Slowly, as spring arrives, a few leaves appear, followed by delicate pink flowers, unfolding to the sunlight of His creation.

Pretty primulas.

Magnificent magnolias.

Synchronised splendour

“Saying with a loud voice, fear God and give glory to Him: for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made Heaven, and Earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters”. Rev. 14/9.
