HEY LOOK AT ME!!!
Thus saith the Lord God:
“Then if any man shall say unto you, lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.” Math. 24/23-26.
There are many
ministries around to-day, everyone that I have encountered fit the above
scenario: Their doctrine sounds right, they say all the right things, they even
can pick up some of what “The Spirit” is saying to the churches. They move in
the gifts of the Spirit. Some of them even understand that “A Prophet has no
honour,” but then as they attach back slapping recommendations for “their
ministry” to their literature and oratory from the pulpit from others, (“How
can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour
that cometh from God only?” John 5/44) they deny the very truth that they are expounding,
in their own lives; ie, “A Prophet has no honour.” (“This people draweth nigh
unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is
far from me.” Math. 15/8, Mk. 7/6.) I listen to “their ministry,” “The Word”
comes through, then whoops!!! Up pops the flesh, and you get a transcript of a
recommendation for “their ministry,” a subtlety attached advertisement for
“self,” a “hey look me over here on channel 9 and see what a great anointed
preacher I am:” Some of them even have the audacity to use “their liberty for
an occasion to the flesh” by recommending themselves, personally boasting of
their “spiritual prowess.” “HE THAT SPEAKETH OF HIMSELF SEEKETH HIS OWN GLORY:”
John 7/18. Invariably “their ministry” is sown with “mingled seed” just like
the other ministries they are criticising. “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O
man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou
condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.”
These ministries without a doubt point to Christ, but also TO THEMSELVES, (“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Math. 24/5.) in an endeavour to build up a reputation and creditability in the ears of the listener for “their ministry” at “I want to be seen time” at “I am number one hey look at me” street on the corner of “I want to take charge and control you and be the boss” street, in the city of “If you don`t come and submit to “MY MINISTRY,” and support ME ME ME, I don`t want to know you” suburb.
Does this make them false? I believe so, Jesus said it in Math. 24/23-26. How does it make them false? In pointing to “their church,” “their ministry,” THEMSELVES, they are saying “lo here is Christ,” “or there,” “Behold he is in the desert,” “he is in the secret chambers;” My father used to say to me when I was a little boy, “They`re nothing but “I Ams;” (does that sound familiar?) Psychiatrists would call them “exhibitionists,” insecure, having a deficiency in the way they perceive themselves, a persecution complex, battling rejection, continually looking for acceptance. Does this exist in ministry to-day? Shock! Horror! You can say that again: That little deity of ego can certainly thrive at the altar if we are not “denying self” as Jesus commanded.
If they were true “followers of Christ,” they would do what Jesus did, wouldn`t they? “I RECEIVE NOT HONOUR FROM MEN.” John 5/41. If they were true “men of God, they would not look for, OR ACCEPT, the honour, praise, recommendation, recognition, applause, acknowledgement, FROM ANY MAN, BUT “THE HONOUR THAT COMETH FROM GOD ONLY.” John 5/44, and then they wouldn`t brag about it once it happened, or use it to promote “their ministry,” THEMSELVES: Why is it when a hungry believer is just looking for fellowship and “brotherly love,” that right from the beginning of a hopeful relationship, he is beset with a resume of “self approved, spiritual credentials” that goes on for hours, days, weeks, months, years: I know they love Jesus, BUT THEY LOVE SELF JUST AS MUCH, IN SOME CASES, MORE!!! “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9/23. There is a little “approval seeking club” that`s in vogue, swapping one another`s papers and letters, looking for concurrence and a pat on the back. Why don`t you send the material direct to the ones in error that you are writing about only, and challenge them face to face like a true Apostle or Prophet would, and forget about the applause and approval from “the mutual admiration society.”
Two incidents I would like to pen: 1. I sat in the presence of so called ministry for over 2 hours (I was there because I wanted to allow The Lord to straighten me out completely;) and all I heard was “how spiritual am I,” “I did this,” “I did that,” “I am an anointed preacher,” “I am the only true Prophet in Brisbane,” “HEY LOOK AT ME!!!!”
2. I listened to another tell me over the phone that he was the only one preaching “The Word,” “The Truth,” in Australia to-day in amongst a tirade of many other self recommendations that weren`t so subtle, along with back-slapping approvals in writing from others who really were just seeking his approval for their lives and ministries….
I don`t know why they even bother, they will never get it, the “hey look at me” in this ministry precludes their need to be “accepted in the beloved.”
Do you recognize this syndrome in your life? I do in mine, that`s why I refuse to paste a picture or have my name printed on any of the material the Holy Ghost reveals to me; IT`S HIS MINISTRY, not mine, HIS GLORY, not mine, HIS GIFTS, not mine, I`m just an errand boy who refuses to be titled, (“but be ye not called Rabbi for one is your master even Christ, and all ye are brethren.” Math. 23/8) doing my best to always be obedient, trying hard to stay in that “place of hearing,” so as to please Him, and Him only; and if there is anything else, I trust Him to show me, so that I can “deny self” in that also. If Jesus had this attitude, (“My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me.” John 7/16.) then so should we.
The only reason for a contact point for “His Ministry,” “Straight Talk Ministries,” is to give all who read the material, a right of rebuttal if they so desire, or to answer any questions that may arise.
Can you imagine Jesus telling the disciples to go down to the local scribes office and have them scratch out “my itinerary” from Nazareth to Jerusalem on posters, billboards, banners, flyers and leaflets declaring healing and deliverance services, anointed preaching and teaching at such and such a time in such and such a place promoting “His Ministry,” and telling them to distribute the advertising material and plaster it all over Israel? HOW PREPOSTEROUS!!! The Father sent “His messenger” before declaring “prepare ye the way of the Lord,” and the Prophets declared His coming. When the time came, “the fame of Him went out into every place of the country round about.” Luke 4/37 which should witness to us how much The Father loved Him, bestowing “the honour that cometh from God only” upon Him. He didn`t have to go and advertise, promote, get recommendations, approval of men, pump it up, to get people to “hear Him and follow Him,” IT ALL CAME TO HIM as He walked in continued surrender, trust, hearing and obedience. Does “His ministry” through you reflect this approval, acknowledgement, HONOUR, from the Holy Ghost? (It had better, if you are to count yourself as “true brethren,” “EKLEKTOS:”) or can`t you trust Him enough to do it? Aren`t you yielded enough? Or are you too impatient to wait for Him to do it? OR ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR FAME, RECOGNITION, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, APPROVAL, APPLAUSE, MAN`S RECOMMENDATION, “TO BE SEEN OF MEN!!!”
HEY LOOK AT ME!!!!!
Just a final note, Jesus said “BELIEVE IT NOT,” when you hear them speak of themselves, pointing you to such and such a ministry, or church, or man: This ministry is there to “DECEIVE THE VERY ELECT IF IT WERE POSSIBLE.” Why “Believe it not?”
“BECAUSE THE
“BUT THE COMFORTER, WHICH IS THE HOLY GHOST, WHOM THE FATHER WILL SEND IN MY NAME, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, AND BRING ALL THINGS TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE, WHATSOEVER I HAVE SAID UNTO YOU.” John 14/26.
See, the elect of God are not racing around “to and fro” looking horizontally for answers, (“The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation.” Luke 17/20) THEY ARE LOOKING VERTICALLY WITH INNER EYE AND EAR TO “HEAR THE WORD.”
I tell you, that`s our only safeguard to stop from falling into deception.

using others pats on the back to promote “their ministry,” telling you how
strong they are spiritually, “bragging on their might.”
“If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.”
John 5/31.
“Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!
For so did their fathers to the false prophets.” Luke 6/26.
“BUT HE THAT SEEKETH HIS GLORY THAT SENT HIM, THE SAME
IS TRUE, AND NO UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IN HIM.” John 7/18.
“see that ye refuse not Him that speaketh.” Amen.
