The following is correspondence between Ian Hall, Free Presbyterian Church Port Lincoln SA. and Bevan Kluver Straight Talk Ministries instigated by Straight Talk Ministries having had enquiry about the doctrines of the Free Presbyterian Church;

This is our first communication:

To Ian Hall, I see from perusing your website that part of your core foundational beliefs are Calvinistic? In other words you belief in the doctrine of "predestination", "once saved always saved" and "election"? I believe Calvin only had part of the truth which he expressed from the position of revelation to his life as he realised that he had "made his calling...........AND ELECTION SURE", and as such has expressed a limited understanding of "The Whole Counsel of God" on these issues thereby leaving no room for doctrine that it is possible "to have one`s name blotted out of the book of life", that it is possible to "fall away", that it is possible to forfeit one`s salvation.

I see a contradiction in your institution`s stand on doctrine in that some of your number do not have a problem in preaching about the end times "falling away" thereby giving sanction to the possibility that one can forfeit salvation and on the other hand making a stand on Calvinism as part of your "Articles of Faith"............... Do you think that this needs to be put right in your faith? I do definately.

Not only in part but in whole we are Calvinistic. I am wholeheartedly committed to reformed theology and make no apology for it.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to engage in debate with free-willers but I suggest if you wish to understand our position you prayerfully study the Westminster Confession of Faith.

"Once saved always saved? I trow not,.........there is another paper attached for your perusal and as with all Straight Talk papers, the content of it came not by acquired academia, Bible College Theology,.....but by revelation from The Holy Ghost.

But of course we couldn`t allow him to run away and hide, especially when he dogmatically declared that no more correspondence would be entered into.......... I wouldn`t like to part of this mans` congregation as he Lords it over the sheep, not tolerating any questions about doctrine: 1 Pet. 5/3.

Why wont you walk in the light with us Ian? 1 John 1/7, John 3/19-21. If you had sound irrefutable, scripturally proven truth for your Calvinistic stance, you would not retreat: The fact that you run away should tell you something.
